CANTON, N.Y. (March 18, 2018) – The SUN Delhi men's lacrosse team traveled to North Country on Saturday seeking their third straight win by knocking off SUNY Canton. Unrelated to the cold, icy weather, the Broncos were not welcomed warmly, as the host Roos shut Delhi out in the first half and scored the first 12 goals on their way to handing the Broncos a 16-3 defeat. Delhi moved to 2-4 on the year, while Canton improved to 5-1.

Canton led, 11-0, at halftime, and tacked on another to begin the second half ahead 12-0. Luke Anderson broke the Broncos' silence with 8:45 left in the third quarter with his eighth goal of the season on a man-up opportunity, assisted by John Rohan III. After three more Roos scores, Rohan opened the fourth quarter his third goal of 2018 to make the score 15-2. Canton would tack on another score before Stephen Harten scored his first career goal on a breakaway for the final score of the contest with 3:02 to go.

Goalie Eric Morse finished with 11 saves on 27 faced shots before giving way to Dante Restaino for the final 10:35 of the game. Rohan led Delhi on the afternoon with two points on one goal and one assist, while Mitch Spaziani won 6-of-23 faceoffs. The Broncos were successful on 16-of-21 clear attempts, grabbed 28 ground balls and forced the Roos into 21 turnovers. Delhi also finished with 31 shots, while Canton shot 41 times.
