Men Finish Second at Oswego to Wrap Regular Season

OSWEGO, N.Y. (September 30, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi men's golf team played their last regular season test this weekend at the SUNY Oswego Fall Invitational at the par-71, 6,424-yard Oswego Country Club. The Broncos were first after day one with a 298 (+14), but a 311 (+27) score on Sunday gave the team a second-place finish with a 609 (+41), one stroke behind first-place Penn State Behrend.

Individual competitors Zach Barrett and Jason Cyr led Delhi tied for fourth with 150's (+8). Barrett shot a pair of 75's, while Cyr went 78 and 72. For the team, Alex Fisher (75, 77) finished seventh with a 152 (+10). Daniel Christy (77, 76) and Jarrett McWilliams (71, 82) tied for eighth with a 153 (+11). Aaron Oliver (78, 77) was 11th with a 155 (+13), while Brandon Palmer (75, 81) finished 14th with a 156 (+14). John Williamson competed individually, earning an 87 and 88 for 48th place with a 175 (+33).

The men now enter postseason mode, as they begin preparation for the USCAA National Championships for Monday, Oct. 7 and Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa. They then will play the NAC Championships for Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Waterville Country Club in Oakland, Me.
