DELHI, N.Y. (July 5, 2017) – SUNY Delhi athletic director Bob Backus has announced the additions of Cathy Foto and Daniel Graham as the college’s new associate athletic director and sports information director, respectively. Foto and Graham enter these newly-created positions at Delhi as the program begins its transition towards NCAA Division III. Foto comes to the Broncos staff following a successful tenure as both the associate athletic director and head field hockey coach at Colgate University. Graham, a first-time sports information director, comes to Delhi after serving two years as the sports information graduate assistant at Edinboro University.
“It is truly exciting to bring aboard Cathy Foto and Daniel Graham as we enter this exciting future for Broncos athletics,” related Backus. “These two new positions will be crucial to our growth as an athletic program, and we are fortunate to welcome such two qualified candidates. Cathy brings a wealth of NCAA-related experience, both as a coach and administrator. She will be a tremendous asset to our staff. Daniel brings a lot of knowledge and vision to our SID position, and as a first-time SID himself, we are hopeful that he can bring to the table some new and creative ideas to promote our institution.”
About Cathy Foto:

Foto served as the head field hockey coach for her entire 28-year career at Colgate, compiling a 169-274-7 career record, and leading the Raiders to a Patriot League championship in 1996 and a league regular season title in 1997. A two-time Patriot League Coach of the Year in 1996 and 2004, Foto tacked on administrative duties in 2008, first as the assistant athletic director, then associate athletic director in 2013. She was also Colgate’s head women’s lacrosse coach for her first ten years.
As an administrator at Colgate, Foto served as a liaison to the Dean's Office, worked on the implementation of the Faculty Liaison Program, and assisted with facility scheduling and special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics. She has also participated on numerous NCAA regional committees for both field hockey and lacrosse, two institutional NCAA Division I certification committees and served as a regional representative for the NCAA Championships in field hockey.
Under Foto’s tutelage, Colgate produced 28 all-region selections, 73 national academic team selections, a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, three Goalkeepers of the Year, four Patriot League Rookies of the Year, the 2004 Patriot League Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and 60 first and second team All-Patriot League selections.
Foto’s coaching career has included a summer stint as the head coach of the Under-15 teams at the U.S. Field Hockey Association Futures Tournament in Boston in 1993. She has also served as a manager at both the 1991 and 1993 U.S. Olympic Festivals in Los Angeles and San Antonio, respectively.
Foto graduated from Ithaca College in 1983, where she helped lead the field hockey team to a NCAA Division III Championship her senior year. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and was inducted into the Bombers’ Hall of Fame in 1989. Foto also has a master’s degree in education from Cortland, where she also served as an assistant coach for the field hockey and women’s lacrosse team.

Graham spent the last two years at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania as a sports information graduate assistant. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies in May 2017, focusing in Managerial Leadership. Graham helped to promote Edinboro's 16 NCAA Division II sports programs and its Division I wrestling program. He was the primary contact for women's soccer, men's basketball, women's lacrosse and men's and women's tennis. Graham assisted in the development of Edinboro's video and social media coverage, as well as taking part in the redesign of Edinboro's athletics website at www.gofightingscots.com in January 2017.
In addition, Graham covered the Edinboro wrestling team at the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Division I National Championships, which featured a combined 14 Fighting Scots. He covered the women's soccer team's first-ever appearance in the PSAC Finals and the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2015, and the women's volleyball team's NCAA Sweet 16 run in 2016. Graham also coordinated the live stream broadcast of the men's tennis team's 2016 NCAA Atlantic Regional II championship match against Mercyhurst.
Graham grew up in Wood-Ridge, N.J., a New York City suburb, and graduated from Wood-Ridge High School in 2011. He attended Bergen Community College, where he received his Associate of Science in Professional Studies with a focus in Broadcasting before transferring to Centenary College of N.J., now Centenary University, in August 2013.
As an undergrad, Graham worked in the Centenary sports information office. He provided video coverage and live streams for home events, as well as publishing game programs, handling public address duties and recording stats. Daniel was also the producer of WNTI's "The Sports Buzz", the school's weekly sports radio program. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication in May of 2015, focusing in Radio and Television.
