DELHI, N.Y. (September 12, 2019) – For the first time this season, the SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team found themselves behind against Keystone Thursday evening, trailing, 2-1, after three sets. It set the stage, though, for the Broncos' first comeback win of 2019, rallying with a 25-19 fourth-set win and a 15-12 victory in the deciding set to jump to 5-0 on the season. Delhi continues its best start ever under head coach Beau Bracchy.

The Lady Broncos opened the game like they have so far this year by taking the first set, posting a 25-21 score over the Giants. Keystone answered back by finding the right spots to take sets two and three by 25-18 and 25-15 respective scores. Delhi responded quickly to tilt the game back to its favor by taking the first five points in set four. When Keystone got on a run to tie things up at 9-9, the Broncos again surged with four straight points, maintaining a lead the rest of the way that led to a 25-22 win. The Giants got the first point in the crucial fifth set, only for the home team to take the next four points that allowed them to hold a lead the rest of the game as they cruised to a 15-12 win for victory number five.

Both teams were on the attack all evening, with Keystone holding a slim 51-50 lead in team kills. This included 24 kills from Giant Erika Schwoyer. But the Broncos won out with the help of three players in double digits in kills on the evening. Witchney Clersainville had a team-best 13 kills, along with six total blocks, including three solo. Lexi Taylor and Chloe Elsenbeck each had 11 kills. Delhi even countered with a slim 96-95 lead in team digs, led by Shelby Nolan with 24, as well as 21 each from Taylor and Elsenbeck. Erica Prindle finished with 40 assists on the night.

Coach Bracchy and the Broncos have the weekend to continue to work off their strong start, as their next match sees them head down to Scranton, Pa. to take on Marywood Monday at 7:00 p.m.
