ELMIRA, N.Y. (April 10, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team ended its 518-day wait between matches Friday with a matchup at Elmira. The Broncos held a 3-0 first-half lead, with goals coming from Alexa DuBois, Micayla Slattery, and an own goal off a corner kick. The Soaring Eagles got their first goal late in the opening half to cut things down to 3-1 at halftime, and tallied two unanswered in the second half for a 3-3 draw.

The sister tandem of Alexa DuBois and Isabella DuBois got Delhi on the board first when Isabella DuBois passed to Alexa DuBois, in which the senior fired a shot from 20 yards out to the lower left corner at 17:11. Slattery followed suit just three minutes later when she picked up a rebound off a shot from Alexa DuBois and buried it the back of the net for the 2-0 lead. Goal number three was put into motion when a header by Isabelle DuBois off a corner kick and inadvertently kicked in by Elmira, giving the Broncos a 3-0 lead in 35th minute.

The three-goal honeymoon didn't last long, as the Soaring Eagles replied two minutes later when Marygrace Nichols delivered when a pass from the right side and a failed clear opened the door for her to score and cut the deficit to two goals at halftime. The second half was scoreless for 30 minutes before Elmira's Taylor Hanson got the host team one goal closer, burying a long through ball down the right side. With five minutes remaining, Elmira's Mackenzie Barton came through on the equalizer.

The Soaring Eagles outshot Delhi, 29-15, including 11-9 on shots on goal. Delhi goalkeeper Rachael Scoones collected eight saves.

The Broncos' next matchup will be at SUNY Canton next Friday, April 16.
