Track and Field Earns Conference Honors

Track and Field Earns Conference Honors

Delhi, NY – The Delhi Men's and Women's Track and Field teams had terrific seasons this spring and were recently rewarded with numerous accolades from the North Atlantic Conference.

Leading the way for both teams was coach Zach Brown.  In his third year at the helm, Coach Brown led the men's team to another conference title and was named the North Atlantic Conference Men's Coach of the Year.  This was the second time in three years that Brown has earned that honor and led the team to that title.

Helping coach Brown to that title was senior Joshua Jeffes and First Year Ryan Swinea.  Jeffes set new NAC championship meet records in the 200 and 400 meter dashes as well as leading the Broncos to the event win in the 4x400 relay.  He currently ranks seventh in the nation for the 400 meters with a personal best time of 46.96, a Delhi school record.

Swinea is new to the sport of track and field after coming to Delhi from a high school without a program.  Under Brown, Swinea has developed at an incredible rate.  Swinea won the triple jump, scored in the 100m, 200, 400m and long jump and ran legs on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams on his way to being the leading scorer for the Broncos in the championships.
