ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 7, 2020) – The SUNY Delhi track and field teams had much to cheer about with podium finishes on day two of the AARTFC Indoor Championships ar Nazareth College. Hurdler Humphrey Banful and jumper Glenn Butler both took silver placements, as Banful set a school-record time of 8.36 in the 60-meter hurdles finals, while Butler used his second-best long jump at 7.20m. These efforts, along with Abshir Yerow's second-place finish Friday in the 5,000 meters, gave the men a sixth-place team finish with 35 points.

Butler also went on to finish fourth in the high jump, clearing 2.04m. He made it to regionals after a great winter that saw him break the school record with a jump of 7.33m at Ocean Breeze in January. Banful ran a then personal best of 8.48 in Friday's preliminaries to punch his ticket to the finals. His race Saturday broke the previous record of 8.39 set by Jon Fagan in 2004.

Sophomore Katerina Salcedo took 14th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:24.82. Senior Diana Echols threw for 14.07m in the weight throw for 19th place. Senior Madeeah Oranchak placed 26th in the long jump with a stretch of 4.71m.

"It was another great day for our team," said head coach Robb Munro. "Humphrey just continues to improve and Glenn scored in two events. It was a great wrap-up to the season, now it's on to outdoor!"

The Broncos competed in ten events over the two-day AARTFC Indoor Championships, which saw two school records drop and three total second-place finishes. Yerow made his mark on Friday by breaking his own school standard in the 5,000 meters at 14:44.91 for second on the podium. Butler improved upon his performance from last year's AARTFC appearance, where he finished sixth in the high jump.
