Track & Field Turns in Another Solid Stop at Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y. (February 23, 2020) – The SUNY Delhi men's and women's track and field teams made their third trip to Cornell University this season, competing at the Marc Deneault Invitational. The Broncos posted four wins and two second-place finishes.

Jumper Glenn Butler added to his AARTFC-qualifying pedigree, winning the long jump with a distance of 7.06m and second in the high jump at 2.05m. Fellow regional-qualifying jumper Madeeah Oranchak set a new PR in the long jump, placing second at 5.47m.

This success translated to the running track, with Anthony Cuchel winning the 600 meters with a mark of 1:30.62 and both men's and women's distance medley relay teams finishing first. The women's squad of Arielle Moheimani, Ashley Magnifico, Katerina Salcedo, and Sophie Stewart ran a winning time of 13:50.53. The men's relay team of Aidan Cutting, Sean Andrews, Cuchel, and Seth Bywater took first with a mark of 11:11.22.

Cutting ran for a new personal best in the one-mile run with a time of 4:31.64. Additional highlights included Katerina Salcedo placing second in the 600 meters at 1:43.89 and Magnifico third in the 300 meters at 45.20. Shamar Barker took seventh in the 300 meters 37.05, as did Lewis Race in the 1000 meters at 2:42.79.

Head coach Robb Munro's team wraps up their regular season this Friday at the Ocean Breeze Fastrack Last Chance. Nine Broncos have qualified for the AARTFC Indoor Championships for Friday, Mar. 6 and Saturday, Mar. 7 at Nazareth College.
