Men finish runners up and women 5th at NAC Championships

Presque Isle, ME – Delhi Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to the North Atlantic Conference Championships on the campus of UMPI on Saturday. The women's team placed 5th, while the men's team finished as runner-ups.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • On the women's side, freshman Mary Bryant led the way in her first NAC championship, finishing 14th overall out of a field of 60 runners with a time of 27:38.8. With her top 15 placement, Bryant secured a spot on the All-NAC Second Team in her inaugural cross-country season.  

  • Senior Marissa Lombardi closely followed Bryant, earning the 16th place with a time of 28:10.0 in the 6K race. The freshman duo of Evie Eastman and Eden Carr finished together in 23rd and 24th, respectively, and Hope Mulligan closed out the scoring in 44th place. 

  • On the men's side, sophomore Derek Leiter had an outstanding race, placing as the top Bronco in 9th overall with a time of 28:32.8 in the 8K race. Sophomore Nathan Goodwin and Senior John Amenta finished in 10th and 11th place, respectively.  

  • Junior Sam Lees and sophomore Cheo Munford rounded out the scoring for the Broncos, securing 18th and 50th place, respectively. Leiter, Goodwin, and Amenta were all recognized with Second-Team All-NAC honors for their placements.

Delhi Cross Country will look to the NCAA Niagara Region Championships on November 11th.
