Broncos Top NAC-Foe Lyndon 5-4 in Season Opener

DELHI, N.Y. (March 27, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team opened their season today with a 5-4 NAC victory over Northern Vermont Lyndon. The Broncos were led by Jarod Rackliffe, Chris Balogh, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, who each came out victorious in their singles and doubles matches.

Rackliffe won his match at one singles, shutting out Nel Mulligan in straights sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Balogh defeated Ken Niemann in the second singles spot, 6-2, and 6-3. Rackliffe and Balogh teamed up to take one doubles over their respective singles opponents, 8-1. Fitzpatrick opened at five singles versus Garrick Webster, winning in straight sets, the first in a tiebreaker 7-6 (6) and the second by a 6-1 score. Fitzpatrick and Nathaniel Morgan teamed up at three doubles to defeat Webster and James Salvas, 8-1.

Head Coach Mark Birman's team's next contest is at SUNY Oneonta on Tuesday, April 6 at 4:00 p.m. in non-conference play.
