The SUNY Delhi cross country teams traveled to Hamilton College in Clinton, NY for their first real test of the season in a strong field of teams.  The men's team placed second out of the five teams and the women placed fifth.

Leading they way for the men was sophomore Kobie Lane. Lane placed fourth overall in the 5,000 meter race with a fantastic early season time of 15:46.5.  The rest of the scoring runners came into the finish very tightly bunched with senior Jack Hillenbrand (15th, 16:16.9), freshman Jon Messler (19th, 16:25.0), Nicholas Arnecke (20th, 16:27.5) and sophomore Andrew Davis (21st, 16:29.6).  In a great display of depth, the Broncos sixth runner, freshman Connor Oakman crossed in an impressive 16::37.1.  Other strong performances came from freshman Lucas Reilly (39th, 17:03.0), freshman Kevin Malen (41st, 17:05.3) and junior Mathew Robinson (51st, 17:35.0).

On the women's side, all four women that raced last weekend were on the course again and sophomore Isamarie Ramos led the way for the second straight week with her 34th palce finish with a time of 16:38.1 for the 4,000 meter course.  Running her first race in well over a year, junior Kelsey Esselman was the second finisher for the Broncos with a time of 18:13.1.  Esselman was closely followed by sophomore Elise McIntyre who is showing drastic improvements this year. McIntyre finished in 18:20.5.  Rounding out the scoring for the team were sophomore Rainey Cerqua (62nd, 19:17.5) and sophomore Xochilt Cortez (66th, 21:23.1).

The team will compete again next weekend at Oneonta in the Airfield Invite held at Fortin Park in Oneonta.
