Broncos Win Two More NAC Matches; Set Up Showdown With Thomas

STOWE, VT (April 10, 2022) - The men's tennis team was back to their winning ways this weekend with a pair of NAC matches held at Topnotch Tennis Academy in Stowe, VT Saturday and Sunday.  The Broncos faced NVU-Johnson and NVU-Lyndon on back to back days and won both matches.

On Saturday, the Broncos swept the team from NVU-Johnson.  The doubles matches were all shutouts at 8-0.  In the singles matches, none of the Broncos gave up more than one game in their matches.

On Sunday, they posted another sweep with a 5-4 win over NVU-Lyndon in a closely sontested match.  The Broncos won the number one doubles match with Jarod Rackliffe and Chris Balogh winning 8-2.  Lyndon took victories at number two and three doubles 9-8 and 8-6 respectively.  Down 2-1 going into the singles matches, the Broncos needed to win four of the singles matches and they did just that.  Delhi won number one, four, five and six singles with victories from Rackliffe, Ryoto Yoshinaga, Kyle Gonda and Daniel Distasio respectively.  The closest of those matches came in the number five singles where Kyle Gonda won sets of 6-4 and 7-6.

These wins leave the Broncos unbeaten in the NAC with only two matches against Thomas College left in the NAC season.  Thomas is also unbeaten in the NAC so the matches with Thomas over the next two weekends will determine the NAC Regular Season Champions.  Delhi will play at home on Wednesday against Mohawk Valley Community College before traveling to Thomas on Saturday for the first of their two matches.
