Steger has recently graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with a minor in Coaching. Followed by a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration in May of 2022.

During her time at Brockport, Steger was a member of the Golden Eagle's women’s cross country and track & field teams from 2016-2022.  She was a part of two SUNYAC Cross Country Championship teams and the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region XC Championship team in 2019. On the track, Steger was a one-time SUNYAC Championship qualifier in the Indoor 3k and a two-time SUNYAC Championship qualifier in the 10k. She also placed sixth at the 2022 SUNYAC Championship and qualified for the AARTFC championships.

Currently, Steger sits ninth on the SUNY Brockport Women’s Top-10 list for the 10,000-meter run. She also holds a USATF Level 1 Certification.
