SUNY Delhi Swim and Dive NAC Championship Preview

WATERVILLE, Maine - The Delhi Swim team is preparing for the North Atlantic Championships in Cazenovia over the weekend. Over the 2022-23 season, the Delhi swim program had eight swimming events including two hosted at home for the first time since 2019.

The NAC Swimming & Diving Championship will take place on February 4-5, 2023, at the Cazenovia College Aquatics Facility in Cazenovia, New York. The Championship meet officially kicks off at 10 A.M. both days of competition.

Delhi will have four women’s swimmers on the roster coming into the 2023 NAC Championship. Skyler Nowalk has been the Broncos’ top performer during the 2022-23 campaign. She will compete in three individual races while swimming in three relays. She starts her day off as the third seed in the women's 100 Yard Freestyle with a seed time of 1:00.11. Nowalk will then swim in the women's 200 Yard Freestyle as the fourth seed and in the 50 Yard Freestyle coming in as the third seed.

The Broncos bring seven men’s swimmers into the NAC Championship. Aidan Record has been swimming really well in the Broncos sprint freestyle events, while Steven Castronovo has been Delhi’s top performer.

Castronovo and Travis Belanger have battled for the Broncos’ top time in the Breaststroke throughout the year. Castronovo will lead the men's team swimming in three individual events and three relays. He comes in as the fourth seed in both the 100 Yard Freestyle and the 50 Yard Breaststroke.

"Coming into the championships as a smaller program we aren't as worried about the team results as we are about our individual times.," said head coach Sam Miller, "Each of our swimmers has greatly improved and will look to beat their personal records."
