Broncos in Florida: Big 7th inning Too Much for Delhi

FORT MYERS, FL (March 15) -- The Broncos seventh game of their trip to Florida ended 19-4 in favor of Wilmington College (Ohio). The Quakers 11-run seventh inning proved too much for the Broncos to fight back from.

Wilmington (OH) (19) vs. Delhi (4):

Delhi fell behind early when Wilmington gave them a dose of their own medicine; scoring two runs early in the first inning. By the time Jessica Kwasnik scored off a Mary Zeman double, Delhi was trailing 4-0. This was the closest Delhi was able to get. Wilmington got two runs in the 4th and 5th innings before exploding for their 11-run final frame.

The Broncos didn't roll over as they tacked on 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. The rally caps weren't enough to overcome the deficit though.

Seven different Broncos combined for their seven hits.

Mel Papuli (1-2) got the loss, going 4.1 innings and striking out 6 Quaker batters. Danielle Seymour relieved Papuli and finished the final 2.1 innings. Wilmington's Lindsey Carter threw only 84 pitches in a complete game, winning effort.

The Broncos finished their Florida business trip with a game against Wisconsin-Superior.
