Broncos Cruise Past VTSU Johnson, 8-1

Delhi, NY (April 19, 2024) - The Delhi tennis team outpowered the VTSU Johnson Badgers Home on Friday afternoon, scoring an 8-1 triumph.

Benjamin Andersen and Moises Saintil teamed up to nab a quick 8-2 win at the one doubles spot. Second-fighting pair Devin Guerrieri/Hannah Shafer edged the badgers in a hard fought battle with a 8-7(7-4) result. In the third spot, Jack Madera and J.T Maccarrone came out victorious finishing 8-2. 

In singles, Andersen took down Maggie Egan 6-4,7-5 at the one spot. Guerrieri in second would take both sets ending with a score of 6-2 to secure the win for the Broncos. Saintil won third singles 7-5,6-4. Maccarrone took fourth singles with the overall best performance on the day 6-1,6-1. Shafer would suffer the lone defeat at the fifth spot ending 7-5,6-3. Jack Madera won the final match of the day in sixth singles with a score of 6-0 and 7-6.

With the win the Broncos move to 4-5 on the season and 4-2 in conference play.

The Broncos will be back in action as they host NAC opponents VTSU-Lyndon in their last regular season match on Saturday, April 20th. Match is set to begin at 11:00AM.
