Connor Filiberto Named to NAIA All-America Second Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 10, 2017) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2017 NAIA Men's Lacrosse All-America Teams as selected by the NAIA-Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-America Committee. Senior defenseman Connor Filiberto (West Babylon, N.Y. / West Babylon) was named to the second team. A total of 27 players were honored across all NAIA schools.

This is the latest honor endowed to Filiberto, as the native of West Babylon, N.Y. was also named the AII Defensive Player of the Year, while earning first-team all-conference accolades. Filiberto helped the Broncos to a 7-5 record in the team’s first season affiliated with the NAIA, finishing with 38 ground balls and 35 caused turnovers. He was first in the conference and second in the country for caused turnovers, playing in only 12 games on the year he averaged just under 3 per game. He also added 2 goals and 1 assist.

Missouri Valley’s Ryan Barnes was named the NAIA Player of the Year, while Reinhardt’s John Snow was named the Coach of the Year. The complete list of NAIA All-America selections can be found HERE.
