In what has been a strange start to the outdoor season with great weather in late March followed by terrible weather in early April, the SUNY Delhi track and field team was back in action after three weeks off.  It does not appear the long layoff hurt the team at all, as two school records fell in the first hour of the meet and many athletes posted large improvements.

In the women's pole vault, freshman Kelcey Watson came back after eight weeks off due to injury and showed great form.  She won the competition with her clearance of 10' 0"and went on to clear 3.36 meters (11'0.25") to break the previous record set by Maddeson Weekes in 2013.  Watson now holds both the indoor and outdoor records for the women's pole vault.

Across the infield on the long jump runway, freshman Doug Williams soared to a mark of 7.19 meters (23'7.25").  The mark won the competition and broke the school record of 7.09 meters set in 2004 by SUNY Delhi Hall of Famer Jon Fagan.  Junior Keimon Barrow also jumped a personal best 7.09 meters to tie Fagan's old mark and take second place in the event.

Continuing their domination of the jumping events, Barrow went on to win the high jump with a clearnace of 2.03 meters (6' 8") and junior teammate Brian McLeod took second with a jump of 1.98 meters (6' 6")  On the triple jump runway, Barrow also won the competition with a mark of 14.72 meters (48' 3.5") and sophomore teammate Davion Porter placed third with a jump of 13.85 meters (45' 5.25").

Sophomore Walter Briggs added some strong performances, winning the 400 meter dash in a time of 49.51 seconds and finishing second overall (first collegiate) in the 110 meter hurdles with a new personal best time of 14.91 seconds.

Other top three finishes were turned in by sophomore Tyler O'Bryant in the 100 meters finishing second with a time of 11.26 seconds, Doug Williams with a third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.71 seconds, freshman Kobie Lane was third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:07.93.  The other top finish for the women's team was a fifth place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase by freshman Rainey Cerqua with a time of 14:36.05.
