Delhi - SUNY Delhi is happy to announce its 2022 Hall of Fame Class featuring two former student-athletes who exemplified what it meant to be a Bronco. Both Johnny Baez and Dimitri Beauchamp will be honored on October 15th between our home soccer games.
 
Johnny Baez was a Delhi Bronco from 2004 to 2005, spending two years competing in the Gold and Green. While Dimitri Beauchamp was a member of the Delhi Men's Soccer team from 2014 to 2015.

 

Johnny Baez '05

Johnny Baez, originally from Nyack, New York, transferred to SUNY Delhi in the fall of 2004, after his freshman year of collegeAs a SUNY Delhi Sophomore, Baez became an instant leader in the Bronco's Men's Cross Country and Track programsHe won four individual NJCAA National Championships in cross country, in the 1,500 meters, 800 meters, and 1,00 meters indoorHis victory at the 2005 Indoor Championships marked the only NJCAA Indoor Track Championship in the history of SUNY Delhi's Athletics programAdditionally, he was a member of the NJCAA outdoor 4x800 meter relay championship team. In total, he earned NJCAA All-American honors five times. Baez helped the Broncos achieve NJCAA Team Championships in outdoor track and field and cross country in 2005.
 
At the time of his induction, Baez is still a member of the school record Indoor Distance Medley Relay Squad, running the lead off the 1,200 meters leg. Additionally, his 800 meters performance of 1:51:57 is still the fastest time in program history.
 
Baez earned his associate degree in Hospitality and Food Service in 2005 and transferred on scholarship to the University of South Carolina. Where he competed at the NCAA Division I level and earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Today, he is a successful business owner and resides in South Carolina, near Columbia, with his wife and son.

 

Dimitri Beauchamp '15

Dimitri Beauchamp, from Bay Shore, NY, attended SUNY Delhi and played two seasons of Soccer predominately starting as a Forward. During his two seasons at SUNY Delhi, he helped guide the Broncos to a 7 and 7 record in 2013 and a 10-6 record in 2014. As a freshman in 2013, Dimitri earned Second Team All-Region III honors. As a sophomore in 2014, he was honored with First Team All-Region III honors while also earning All-Mountain Valley Conference Team accolades as a Striker. Beauchamp scored 23 goals in total during his sophomore season, including four game-winners! His presence on the field helped guide the Broncos to earning postseason berths in both seasons
 
Beauchamp graduated from SUNY Delhi in May 2015 with an associate degree in Recreation and Sports ManagementHe then transferred to American University where he played two seasons at the NCAA Division I level.
