VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (December 23, 2020) – Four members of the SUNY Delhi women's and men's tennis teams earned distinction from the USCAA for academic excellence on its Fall Non-Championship National All-Academic Team.

Mackenzie Landman (Barneveld, NY / Holland Patent), Senior – Veterinary Science

Mackenzie has been a staple of the tennis program since her freshman season in 2017. The challenges presented to her as a Veterinary Science major and a Senior Residence Assistant has not gotten in the way of her commitment to improve her game every way possible. As a freshman walk-on, Mackenzie worked her way up as a regular in Delhi's top spots in matches, including as its number-one singles and doubles player for most of her junior season. She has also been a regular on nearly every academic recognition a Bronco student-athlete can receive, covering distinctions from the USCAA, NAC, and SUNY Delhi Scholar-Athletes. Her contributions reached a new precipice when Head Coach Mark Birman selected her as his 2019-20 Women's Tennis Coach's Award recipient.

Hailey Gundersen (Middletown, NY / Pine Bush), Sophomore – Veterinary Science

Hailey is in her second year with the program and first as team captain. After much encouragement from Head Coach Mark Birman, Hailey came out for the team as a freshman in Fall 2019, a decision she is glad she made. The Veterinary Science major has kept her student-athlete responsibilities in check, not only serving as one of the team's top players, but also as its SAAC representative. She was named a SUNY Delhi Scholar-Athlete last spring and has recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA in three of her first four semesters.

Dominick DeBonis (Endicott, NY / Union-Endicott), Sophomore – Electrical

As a freshman, Dominick was ready to serve things up for his first season with the Broncos last spring, which sadly was cancelled. His commitment never waned, however, as he stayed focus on his tennis game in preparation to play his long-awaited first career collegiate match. It's these qualities that earned him Birman's Men's Tennis Coach's Award last season. He quickly established himself as a leader for the program, becoming the team's SAAC representative.

Darienne "DJ" Guerrieri (Catskill, NY / Catskill), Sophomore – Accounting

Darienne, also known as DJ, is one of the newer faces for the Broncos as she just completed her first fall practice season. While her first fall did not offer intercollegiate competition, DJ remained fixated on working herself into the program and familiarizing herself with her teammates.
