Broncos in Florida: Gets First Win Against Albion

FORT MYERS, FL (March 12, 2022) - The Broncos were back at it again this morning when they got to go up against Albion College from Michigan. In their third game of the trip, Delhi was able to rebound from yesterday and picked up win one of the season.

The Broncos were able to get a run across the plate in the 1st inning with an RBI ground out by Lauren Zecca. Mary Zeman singled to start the game followed by a bunt single from Kayla Beers. Roselyn Monks walked to load the bases. Two batters later, Zecca put the ball in play and allowed Zeman to score.

Katelynn Rose (1-1) picked up the victory, going the distance. Rose scattered 5 hits over 7 innings and only walked one batter. Albion got their lone run in the bottom of the third off Rose but the Britons only managed two other baserunners the rest of the way.

Delhi got the winning run along with some insurance in the top of the 6th inning; taking advantage of some errors committed by the Britons plus a timely double by Kitty Messina.

Rose used 3 flyouts in the 7th to give the Broncos their first victory in Florida and the season.

Game #2 of the day is against Pitt-Bradford.
