Delhi Lacrosse Closes Fantastic Season in Maine

Castine, ME - The SUNY Delhi Lacrosse team traveled to Maine Maritime Academy for the North Atlantic Conference Semifinal against the Mariners.  Despite a strong first half, the Broncos fell by a final score of 17-12 to end their season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Delhi scored two quick goals to close out the first half and take an 8-4 lead into the break.

  • By the end of the third quarter, the game was tied at nine a piece and the Mariners had more left to take the win in the fourth quarter.

  • The Broncos offense was led by Jackson Murphy who scored three goals and Jagger Beachak who added two goals and four assists.

  • Anthony Ferrato again controlled the face-offs winning 18 of 29 and collecting 7 ground balls.

UP NEXT FOR THE BRONCOS

This loss brings an end to a terrific season for the Broncos with a final record of 12-5.  During the season, we saw Ben Moscatiello and Jagger Beakchak score their 100th career point as well as single season records set by Beachak in assists and points and by Ferrato in ground balls.  With many key players returning, coach Miller will look forward to building upon the succes next year.
