Delhi Golf starts strong in season opener; three Broncos shoot under par

Delhi, NY – The Delhi men's golf team started their 2023 campaign on a high note, securing their first victory of the year by defeating The Apprentice School in a dual meet with a score of 286 (-2) to 339.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 

  • Senior Thomas Christoffersen (Binghamton, NY) starts his 2023 campaign off with a first-place finish, shooting a 68 (-4), four strokes lower than his score in the 2022 Spring Bronco Invitational. 

  • Senior John Williamson (Scotch Plains, NJ) carded an impressive 71 (-1) on the day, helping Delhi to a three-under-par team score.  

  • Freshman John Souva (Nanuet, NY) had an excellent debut, carding a 71 (-1), the second-lowest score of the day. 

  • Delhi has won their last four appearances on their home course dating back to 2021.

"The entire team has been working hard since the start of the season, and it is great to see their effort pay off. We've added some terrific new members to the team. Today, upperclassmen Tom Christoffersen, John Williamson, Jordan Starley, and Gabe Horsford really stepped up."

UP NEXT FOR THE BRONCOS 

Delhi will host the SUNY Delhi Bronco Invitational on Saturday, September 2nd, teeing off at 10 AM, before traveling to the Cobleskill Country Club the next day.
