Kunsela Hall Pool Jobs

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR - WSI's are responsible for instructing students, staff and the community at various skill levels for the purpose of improving swimming skills. WSI's must hold current certifications.

LIFEGUARD - These students are responsible for maintaining a safe environment in the pool including rescuing at-risk or injured swimmers. Lifeguards must hold current certifications.

Athletics

Game Personnel - The following positions have a widely varied and flexible schedule. Students are assigned on an as-needed basis and are paid at the end of the athletic season. There is no formal application for these positions. If you are interested, please contact Dan Graham at grahamdt@delhi.edu.

Scoreboard Operator - Needed for all sports. This student is responsible for using the scoreboard to display game statistics during the game. This individual works closely with the statistician to ensure accuracy of the displayed information. Experience is preferred but not required.

Clock Operator - Needed for men's and women's basketball. Manages the game clock during basketball games. Works closely with the scoreboard and shot clock operators. Experience is preferred but not required.

Announcer - Needed for men's and women's basketball. This student is responsible for making pre-game announcements, delivering in-game announcements, and using digital sound equipment to play music for pre-game, time-outs, and other down-time during games. As the "voice" of the Delhi basketball, professionalism is imperative. Experience is required.

Videographer - Needed for basketball, lacrosse, soccer, swimming & diving. This student is responsible for setting up and running the live video feed of indoor athletic events. Experience is preferred but not required.

Shot Clock Operator - Needed for men's and women's basketball. Manages the shot clock during basketball games. Works closely with the scoreboard and clock operators. Experience is preferred but not required.

Statistician - Needed for all sports. This student is responsible for collecting and documenting statistics during athletic competitions. Depending on the sport, more than one student may be hired for an individual game. Experience is preferred but not required.

Ball Person - Needed for soccer and volleyball. No experience is required.

Linesman - Needed for volleyball. Two students will be hired for each game. They are required to determine is the ball was "in" or "out" during a play. These students are part of the officiating crew and should dress and act professionally while working. No experience required.

Sports Information - Students hired will be overseen by the Sports Information Director, and will assist in the promotion of SUNY Delhi athletics. Duties include stats, press releases, graphic design, publications, filming and editing, website maintenance, PA announcing. Please contact Ike Hartman at hartmaid@delhi.edu.

Athletic Training - Students hired will assist the Athletic Trainer with the day to day duties. This will include stocking supplies, cleaning, making ice bags, filling water and helping with pre and post-game set up. Students WILL NOT treat or tape athletes. Students must be CPR and First Aid certified. Please contact Rachel Gleason at gleasorm@delhi.edu.

Recreation Facility Supervisor - Students hired for this position supervise campus recreational facilities including the Maines Arena, Bubble and Multi-purpose room in Clark Field House in addition to distributing recreational equipment to students as requested. Athletic Staff Assistant - This is an upper-level student position. This position provides supervision for other student staff in the athletic department including but not limited to game day operations staff (statisticians, clock operators, ball people, etc), fitness center student staff and recreation facility supervisors. Fitness Center

Fitness Center Student Assistant - Students hired for this position supervise the fitness center in the Clark Field House. They are expected to welcome patrons to the facility, provide basic assistance with equipment, and maintain the cleanliness of the facility. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director. Intramurals

Game Officials - Students hired for this position are expected to independently or in small groups, officiate intramural contests. These student must be able to  know and apply the rules of the sport and must also be able to intervene to prevent negative behavior from affecting the intramural experience for other students. Students interested in these positions should contact Beau Bracchy and must attend the coaches/officials meeting for the sport they are interested in officiating.
