DELHI, N.Y. (May 18, 2021) - As our memorable 2020-21 season comes to a close, we still have plenty to celebrate in our Broncos of the Week! With several programs still active in their postseason endeavors to touch on, we are also excited to welcome back WCDO's Nate Lull for another edition of "Nate Lull's Local Look"!

Jarrett McWilliams (Canandaigua, NY / Canandaigua Academy) capped off his stellar senior season and career by placing second at the two-day USCAA National Invitational to lead the Broncos to a first-place finish. McWilliams closed out the first day with an even 72 score, then shot a 74 on day two for a 146 total, earning First Team All-American alongside teammates Brandon Palmer and Daniel Christy. As a team, Delhi stood in third place after day one with a 299 score, then shot up to number one with a 300 second-day total for a 599 total, winning by three strokes. All five Broncos, each seniors, finished All-American, which also included Jason Cyr and Zach Barrett earning Second Team accolades.

After securing both NAC and NAC West co-medalist honors to help Delhi win its second straight NAC championship, McWilliams went on to earn NAC West Co-Player of the Year and was named to the NAC Sportsmanship Team.

Nate Lull's Local Look, Alanna Ruchar, Women's Soccer (Delhi, NY / Delaware Academy)

WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull is based in Sidney, NY and reports on high school sports in the counties that surround SUNY Delhi. Many of the athletes Nate covers continue their sports careers by joining the Bronco family. Each week Nate will highlight a local player he covered in high school who is now in college at Delhi.

This week Nate has selected Alanna Ruchar from Women's Soccer. Alanna is a native of Delhi, NY.

Nate says: "Alanna grew up playing soccer across town at Delaware Academy. She was a very solid piece for a DA program that has established itself as one of the top small school programs in the state. I was so excited to hear she was staying local and would be continuing her career at SUNY Delhi. I think she will be a great addition to the Broncos squad. Alanna does all the little things that coaches love. She hustles, wins 50-50 balls, makes good passes and has a positive attitude at all times. During the team's short spring season, Alanna scored the Broncos' second goal in a 3-0 exhibition win over Cazenovia. I have no doubt that Delhi fans are going to love watching her play during her college career."

Check back in the future for another one of Nate's picks!
