SUNY Delhi Social Series Continues on With May 6 Female Panel

DELHI, N.Y. (April 29, 2021) - SUNY Delhi Athletics, in conjunction with the NCAA and the North Atlantic Conference grant program, will be presenting on Thursday May 6th at 8:00 p.m., featuring three former student-athletes who will share advice and answer questions about college athletics, finding a job and building an inclusive and diverse environment to live, play and work in.

Join us to meet former SUNY Delhi student-athlete Shanay Bradley '10, currently the director of The Fellowship of Christin Athletes in Syracuse, N.Y., former student-athlete Jackie Bailey '13, currently working for NIKE, and Kira Carter, the current women's basketball coach at Missouri S&T. Discussion moderated by SUNY Delhi Head Women's Basketball Coach Aiden McRoberts.

These three women will discuss their journey from college to their current employment position and talk about what they feel will help student-athletes be successful as well as their suggestions for creating a diverse and inclusive setting to compete and work in.

MEET THE PANEL

JACKIE BAILEY

Jackie Bailey '13 was a member of the two winningest programs in Broncos Volleyball history in 2009 and 2010, which combined for 50 wins, back-to-back MVC Championships, and a pair of NJCAA Region 3 Tournament appearances. A dynamic six-rotation outside hitter, Jackie was selected Third Team All-Region 3 both years, earned the Coach's Award in 2009, and was Mountain Valley Conference Co-Player of the Year in 2010. Her 566 digs in 2010 are a single season record. Jackie stayed on for three more seasons as an assistant coach before graduating from SUNY Delhi with a Bachelor's degree in Travel and Tourism. She currently works as a Product Life Cycle Coach/Merchandising Team Lead for Nike.


SHANAY BRADLEY

Shanay Bradley '10 competed as forward for the Broncos Women's Basketball Team from 2008 to 2010, leading the team in rebounds in both seasons and earning All-Mountain Valley Conference honors. She was named team captain her sophomore year in a campaign where she averaged a double-double with 12.8 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game. She continued her career at SUNY New Paltz from 2010 to 2012, becoming an instant starter for the Hawks and an All-SUNYAC selection her senior year. Bradley ranked number one in the SUNYAC in rebounding, including setting a single-game school record with 24 rebounds. She stayed on as a volunteer coach for New Paltz following her senior season, the year the Hawks won their first SUNYAC championship in 2013. She coached at SUNY Potsdam for two years before returning to New Paltz as an assistant coach. She helped the Hawks to their second SUNYAC title in 2016. Bradley now is a director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Syracuse, N.Y., which focuses on the development of faith and athletics.


KIRA CARTER

Kira Carter began her collegiate playing career at Oakland University, a NCAA Division I program and played in all 28 games her freshman season before transferring to Wabash college where she earned All-Region and All-Conference. Kira wrapped up her collegiate career at Coastal Carolina where she snagged the fifth-best rebounder of the program. After graduating Kira went to play overseas before returning to the states in 2013 to start her career as a collegiate coach. She served three years as an assistant at the NCAA Division I level, first at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and then at Sam Houston State University where she has spent the last two seasons. She is now the head coach at Missouri S&T and was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's 30 Under 30 list.
