BRONCOS OF THE WEEK (3/23): Quinlan Davis, Erin Schowerer

BRONCOS OF THE WEEK (3/23): Quinlan Davis, Erin Schowerer

DELHI, N.Y. (March 23, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi Athletics Broncos of the Week takes on a new meaning! We are excited to collaborate with our community to highlight our local student-athletes, and turning to our Broncos who have excelled academically. Each week we will showcase our Broncos through "Nate Lull's Local Look" and our "Scholar Athlete Student Spotlight."

Nate Lull's Local Look: Quinlan Davis, Men's Soccer (South Kortright, NY / South Kortright Central)

WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull is based in Sidney, NY and reports on high school sports in the counties that surround SUNY Delhi. Many of the athletes Nate covers continue their sports careers by joining the Bronco family. Each week Nate will highlight a local player he covered in high school who is now in college at Delhi.

This week Nate has selected Quinlan Davis from Men's Soccer. Quinlan is a native of South Kortright, NY.

Nate says: "It is very exciting to see Quinlan continuing his soccer career with the Broncos. He was an excellent 3-sport athlete just down the road at local powerhouse, South Kortright. Quinlan was a major contributor for the Rams soccer team when they made a run to the NYS Class-D final four. He was a strong midfield player whose size and strength made him very tough to beat when a ball was in the air. Opposing teams always had trouble marking him on corner kicks. I also think his major - Mechatronics - is super cool!"

Check back next week for another one of Nate's picks!

Scholar Athlete Student Spotlight: Erin Schowerer, Women's Golf (Oceanside, NY / Oceanside)

Junior Erin Schowerer majors in the Business & Professional Golf Management program and is the latest in a line of prominent women's golfers at SUNY Delhi. In Fall 2019 she won the Cobleskill Invitational and finished second individually for the second straight year at the USCAA National Championships. She earned Head Coach Dave Arehart's 2019-20 Coach's Award, with her proven leadership on full display as the women's golf team's Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative. Erin is a great example of a team player, helping out her teammates and working alongside the men's team to improve her game.
