SHANAY BRADLEY '10 - BASKETBALL

2019 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE

Shanay Bradley competed as forward for the Broncos Women's Basketball Team from 2008 to 2010, leading the team in rebounds in both seasons and earning All-Mountain Valley Conference honors. She was named team captain her sophomore year in a campaign where she averaged a double-double with 12.8 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game. She continued her career at SUNY New Paltz from 2010 to 2012, becoming an instant starter for the Hawks and an All-SUNYAC selection her senior year. Bradley ranked number one in the SUNYAC in rebounding, including setting a single-game school record with 24 rebounds. She stayed on as a volunteer coach for New Paltz following her senior season, the year the Hawks won their first SUNYAC championship in 2013. She coached at SUNY Potsdam for two years before returning to New Paltz as an assistant coach. She helped the Hawks to their second SUNYAC title in 2016. Bradley now is a director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Syracuse, N.Y., which focuses on the development of faith and athletics.

DIANA ECHOLS '20 - TRACK & FIELD, BASKETBALL

Diana "Didi" Echols '20 was a two-sport athlete in track & field and basketball throughout her four years as a Bronco. She established herself as arguably the best thrower in SUNY Delhi history by breaking the indoor weight throw record all four seasons, and outdoors broke the hammer throw record in all three seasons she competed. Diana is also the number-two shot putter in history outdoors. In the spring of 2019, she won the NAC titles in the hammer throw and shot put, helping the team to their first ever NAC Title. Didi was a two-time AARTFC indoor qualifier in the hammer throw and once outdoor for the shot put. On the basketball court, Diana led the team in rebounding three out of her four years, including a career-best 12.7 boards per game in 2018-19 that ranked second in the conference. Didi was also named to the All-ACAA Second Team that season. Her career totals included 839 rebounds and 545 points. She served as a representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and majored in Recreation and Sports Management.

YUSUF ABDULLAH '15 - SWIMMING & DIVING

Yusuf Abdullah '15 competed on the swim team during an historic era for the Broncos from 2011 to 2013. While Yusuf stood out among his peers at over six feet tall, he was among giants on a pair of Delhi teams that included national qualifiers, school record holders, and even one future hall of famer. Yusuf's enthusiasm and determination paid big dividends for he and the program, always motivating his teammates and jumping at the chance to race in any event if it meant helping his team. Yusuf and the men's program finished fourth at the 2013 NJCAA Region 3/Northeast District Championships, while earning the meet's Most Improved Team Award. He then competed in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 400 and 800 yard freestyle relays at the 2013 NJCAA National Championships, earning CSCAA All-American honors in both relays. After his competitive swimming days for the Broncos were over, Yusuf stayed on to support the team and assist at meets before earning his Bachelor's from SUNY Delhi in Architecture in 2015. The native of Freeport, N.Y. currently works as an architectural designer on Long Island.

YVONNE HAWKINS (1985-87) - BASKETBALL, FIELD HOCKEY, SOFTBALL

Yvonne Hawkins served as the first black head coach in SUNY Delhi history for not one, not two, but THREE sports in basketball, softball, and field hockey. Following a successful student-athlete career at Ashland University (Ohio), Hawkins led the Broncos from 1985 to 1987. While her time in Delhi was brief, Yvonne helped set the women's basketball program up for future success that went on to capture a MVC Championship and several NJCAA Region 3 tournament appearances in the late 80's/early 90's. Her field hockey team made it to the postseason in 1985 that boasted one All-American. Yvonne went on to make the first of two stops with UAlbany basketball as an assistant coach for 15 years, coinciding with the Great Danes' transition to NCAA Division I in the late 90's/early 2000's. This was followed by a stop at Yale and a run at Boston College, where she helped lead the Eagles to the Sweet Sixteen in 2005-06. She moved on to Denver University, becoming the Associate Head Coach, then returned to BC in the same capacity. Yvonne is currently back on the coaching staff at UAlbany, where a few of her former Great Danes student-athletes serve in administrative roles at the university.

ALARIC BEST '08 - CROSS COUNTRY, TRACK & FIELD

Alaric Best '08 was a key member of the Broncos cross country teams that posted back-to-back NJCAA National Championships in 2006 and 2007. He served as Delhi's crucial fifth and final finisher on a tough Alfred State course to lock up the '06 team crown, while earning All-American Honorable Mention in '07. In track & field, Best was a three-time All-American in the 4x800, once indoors in 2007 and twice outdoors in 2007 and 2008. He continued his career at NCAA Division II University of New Haven, where as the cross country team captain as a senior helped guide the Chargers to the NCAA East Regionals, placing 12th. Best stayed on at UNH as an assistant coach, which then led to his current appointment as head coach at fellow Division II Ursuline College in 2015. His coaching highlights with the Arrows include three NCAA Track & Field Individual National Champions, nine NCAA All-Americans, 24 NCAA national qualifiers, and the track & field team achieving its highest national ranking in school history. Upon earning his Bachelor's degree in 2010, Best transferred hours from UNH back to SUNY Delhi to receive his Associate's in Recreation & Sports Management.

ANTHONY EVANS (2001-03) - BASKETBALL

From 2001 to 2003, Coach Anthony Evans took SUNY Delhi men's basketball to unprecedented heights. Evans came over to the Broncos following a run as head man at SUNY Ulster, inheriting a talented Broncos team that posted 32 wins the year before. Delhi did not miss a beat, matching that win total in 2001-02 and earning a number-one ranking. His 2002-03 program followed suit with 30 wins. These efforts landed the Broncos their second and third straight NJCAA Region 3 Championships and back into the national tournament spotlight. Evans moved on to Norfolk State, first as an assistant coach then a six-year run as head coach. His biggest highlight arguably was when his 15th-seeded Spartans posted a first-round upset of 2-seed Missouri in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. He moved on to Florida International for a five-year stint as head coach. Evans is now an assistant coach at Fordham.

TEQUILLA LLOYD '12 - BASKETBALL

Tequilla Lloyd '12 enjoyed two seasons with SUNY Delhi women's basketball from 2010-12. She had an extraordinary sophomore season in 2011-12 where she nearly averaged a double-double with 14.2 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game. She ranked first on the team in rebounding and second in scoring. Her performance backed the Broncos to a NJCAA Region 3 Tournament appearance and a 17-12 record, achieving the program's highest season win total in two decades. Tequilla took her talents to SUNY Plattsburgh, immediately becoming a valuable part of the Cardinals' success. During the 2012-13 year, she ranked second on the team with 5.1 rebounds per game and third with 6.2 point per game as Plattsburgh reached the SUNYAC Semifinals. Her senior season in 2013-14, the Cardinals won 23 games, including the SUNYAC title (first in program history) and a first-round victory in the NCAA Tournament. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
