DELHI, N.Y. (September 14, 2020) - Many SUNY Delhi athletics events are driven by involvement from our community, and we are proud to serve as a component for community engagement. Over the last few years we have gained traction by tailoring our events towards the youth in our community, including several youth sports leagues in the area. This has become known as our Junior Bronco Club.

Associate Director of Athletics Cathy Foto founded the Junior Bronco Club. One of the earliest efforts was a Youth Day in conjunction with a women's basketball game in February 2018 that featured teams from the Delhi Picket Leagues who played at halftime, followed by a team autograph session following the game. It was from there that seeds for the Junior Bronco Club were planted. Over the next two years, programming has expanded to home events for sports such as volleyball and soccer, with membership perks such as prize raffles, shirts, halftime activities, and meet and greet with Blaze and the SUNY Delhi student-athletes.

"We started the Junior Bronco Club as a way to engage with the youth in our community," said Foto. "It was a project to connect our teams with children and encourage them to attend events and interact with our student-athletes. We want to make SUNY Delhi Athletics family friendly and create an atmosphere where families can come together enjoy a day or night out, see an exciting event and cheer on the Broncos."

Signing up for the Junior Bronco Club is just a click away! PLEASE CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE ONLINE FORM. The Junior Bronco Club is open to children 12 years and under. Youth programs in the Delaware County area are encouraged to participate and collaborate in our Junior Bronco events by contacting Cathy Foto by email at fotocm@delhi.edu.

"We have enjoyed partnering with some local youth organizations who have attended as part of our youth days," related Foto. "Our student-athletes enjoy the opportunity to interact with kids in the area and creating an avenue for kids to get interested in sports."
