Delhi men's and women’s basketball started their 2023/24 season on the road last week, with these two standouts being selected as the Broncos of the Week. Senior Jayda Allen and sophomore Gustarling Louis led their respective teams with some great performances on the court in their first week back in action.
Jayda Allen
Senior | Brooklyn, NY | Women’s Basketball
Allen was selected to the Elmira College Tipoff All-Tournament Team after her performances in the Broncos' two games, where she averaged 7.5 points and 11 rebounds. She got off to a hot start in her senior campaign, grabbing over nine rebounds in all three of their games last week while leading the team in scoring twice.
Allen and the women's basketball team will be in action next on November 15th at West Conn before making their home debut on Saturday, November 18th.
Gustarling Louis
Sophomore | Elmont, NY | Men’s Basketball
Louis played a pivotal role in the Broncos' season opener, securing a win over Bard College by leading the team with his career-high 19 points, along with three rebounds and two assists. Throughout Delhi’s two games last week, Louis averaged 15.5 points and shot the ball extremely well, going 83.3% from beyond the arc and 80% from the field.
Louis and the men's team have a big week ahead, starting with an exhibition game at Columbia University on Wednesday, followed by a matchup at Hartwick on Thursday, before making their official debut on Saturday, November 18th.
