Delhi, NY - The week of January 17th to January 24th brought many strong performances form Delhi athletes, but two have been chosen as the Bronco's of the Week! This week's Bronco of the Week selections come from both Men’s and Women’s Track and Fieldafter their performances at the Highlander Invitational. With this being their first BOTW, Zoe Rodi and James Olson aren’t looking to let up on the gas anytime soon.
Zoe Rodi
Sophomore | Pine Bush, NY | Women’s Track and Field
Zoe Rodi broke her own personal record TWICE in the 60 meter event during the Highlander Invitational at Houghton University. During preliminaries, our Bronco sophomore ran a 8.07 snagging third place and followed up with a lifetime best 8.06 in the finals ending in fourth place for that event. She then ran a lifetime best in the 200 meters to place fifth overall with a time of 27.05. Rodi will look to break 27 for her first time indoors as the season continues.
James Olson
Junior | Harpersfield, NY | Men’s Track and Field
James Olson had an amazing weekend up in Utica during his two events, shot put and weight throw. This junior Bronco had a season best for shot put and followed up with a lifetime best during the weight throwing competition. In the first shot put, he threw 13.48m, which earned him first place overall. He then followed up with a lifetime best in the weight throw, tossing the implement 14.68 meters. The mark was good enough to place second overall.
Both Men’s and Women’s Track and Field are looking great so far this season and look to continue results like these!
