Broncos Win Season Opener; Lane Sets Course Record

Men's Results / Women's Results

Sophomore Kobie Lane won the first race of the season in a new course record at LeMoyne College to lead the men's team to the win in the first meet of the year.  Lane's time of 20:32.71 took 20 seconds off the course record time set a year ago by teammate John Hillenbrand and was good for a three and a half second victory over second place.  Lane was followed closely by senior John Hillenbrand who was third overall and also under the old course record.  The Broncos closed out the scoring with sophomore Nicholas Arnecke, freshman Jon Messler and freshman Connor Oakman. Sophomore Andrew Davis and freshman Lucas Reilly filled the sixth and seventh spots for the team.

The women were led by sophomore Isamarie Ramos who ran in her first ever cross country race placing in 18th.  Following Ramos with strong performances were sophmores Elise McIntyre and Rainey Cerqua who both ran races suggesting their 2016 seasons will be much better than 2015 was. Sophomore Xochilt Cortez rounded out the women with a strong race of her own.  The women did not travel a full squad so they did not register a team score, but next week will travel a scoring squad.

The Broncos will travel to Hamilton College in Clinton, NY next Saturday.
