Samiaya Salley Receives First Career USCAA Player of the Week Award

NORFOLK, Va. (December 19, 2018) – Following her 33-point, ten-rebound performance in Monday's 73-61 win over Green Mountain, Samiaya Salley (Highland Falls, NY / James I. O'Neill) was named the USCAA Division II Player of the Week. This marks the two-time USCAA All-American's first career weekly national honor from the league. In addition, she has twice been named the ACAA Player of the Week already this year.

Salley picked up her third 30-point game and third double-double of the season by way of knocking down 4-of-7 3-pointers and 11-of-21 from the floor, along with gathering all her rebounds on defense. In a tight fourth quarter where the host Eagles threatened Delhi's lead, the junior from Highlands Falls, NY scored 13 of her points in the final period. Ahead just 61-59, Salley's fourth triple of the game with 3:06 to play triggered a 12-2 Broncos run to close out the game. She also finished the night with five assists.

Salley and the Broncos will return from break on Saturday, Jan. 5, traveling to take on College of St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. They will then take to their home court for the first time in the New Year against ACAA-foe Pratt on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 4:00 p.m.
