Salley's Three-Game Showing Earns Broncos First ACAA Weekly Nod of Season

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (November 20, 2018) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) announced Samiaya Salley (Highland Falls, NY / James I. O'Neill) as the Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The junior earned her first honor of the season and third of her career off of three impressive games, one where she scored the game-winner in the final second and another where she tallied her second career 40-point game.

SUNY Delhi began the week taking on Morrisville State on Monday, Nov. 12. With the game tied with seconds remaining and having already scored 31 points, Salley drilled the game-winning basket with 0.9 ticks remaining. Salley and the Broncos continued the momentum against Penn State Hazleton on Saturday with a 93-67 win. The junior recorded a double-double with 21 points on five 3-pointers and 11 boards. After logging her first career 40-point game with 42 last season against Central Penn, history repeated itself Sunday as Salley dropped 41 points on the Knights. She shot 15-for-24 from the field and 6-for-11 from 3-point range. For the three games, Salley averaged 31.7 ppg. and 9.3 rpg., shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 44.4 percent behind the arc.

Salley and the Broncos are back on their home court today, welcoming Villa Maria for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
