NEW LONDON, N.H. (November 10, 2018) – SUNY Delhi women's basketball made their long-awaited season debut on Saturday with a road contest at Colby Sawyer. Despite Camryn McDonald logging a double-double and Samiaya Salley scoring in double figures, the Broncos were unable to bounce back from a slow start as the Chargers took a 74-47 victory.

The Broncos trailed, 19-4, after the first quarter, and were unable to get any closer than to within 13 points of the home team's lead. Delhi was also hampered with Salley committing three fouls in the first quarter and another in the second, limiting her court time. Despite this, the junior finished second on the team with 13 points. Another factor was the Broncos shooting 27.0 percent from the field (17-for-63), including 2-for-17 from 3-point range, and being forced into 25 turnovers, resulting in 18 Chargers points.

McDonald, who led the team her freshman season last year in double-doubles, got her first of the year right off the bat with 14 points and ten rebounds, as well as six blocks. Diana Echols led with 11 rebounds, along with four points, while Sam Acuna netted seven points. Kiera Holland finished with five points. Spurred on by McDonald's play, Delhi led, 16-14, in bench points, as well as the team just getting edged out on the boards with 47 rebounds to the Chargers' 48.

Head coach Courtney Hoyt's team makes their home season premiere on Monday, welcoming Morrsville State to Floyd L. Maines Arena at 6:00 p.m.
