Broncos Fall Prey to the Lions

SUNY Delhi struggled to find their rhythm on the road against Penn State Hazleton Tuesday night. The Lions came out roaring in the first period taking a 22 to 7 lead. Penn State held SUNY Delhi to single figure scoring in the first and third periods. While the Lions struggled from deep, shooting only 2-18 from behind the arc, Britney Toliver, Kaitlin Gorton, and Samiaya Salley found better success for the Broncos, shooting 7-19 collectively. The Broncos outrebounded the Lio's 51 to 45, but the Lions impressive team total 25 steals thwarted the Broncos from capitalizing offensively. Salley's second half drive, putting away 18 of her game high 23 points, and the Broncos strong fourth period, outscoring the Lions 21 to 13, would not be enough to overcome the Lions' controlling lead. Penn State Hazleton would go on to win 78 to 52.
