MENCOMBINED RESULTS | NAC RESULTS | NAC TEAM SCORES WESTON, Mass. (April 28, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi men's track and field team tallied 12 conference wins over the weekend to take the NAC team title at the combined NAC/GNAC/NECC Championships at Regis College. After being ranked second behind Husson in Thursday's NAC Pre-Championship Poll, the Broncos won out with 232 points, finishing 23 points above the second-place Eagles. Eight of Delhi's wins led the entire three-conference competition, as the men also topped the combined field with 178 points. Jumper and sprinter Glenn Butler Jr. (White Plains, NY / White Plains) led the Broncos with three individual victories, leading the combined competition with career bests in the high jump at 2.06m and the long jump at 6.87m. The sophomore went on to take the top NAC time with a new PR in the 100 meters at 11.44. Fellow jumper Alex Irving (Binghamton, NY / Chenango Valley) beat out the combined field in the triple jump with a distance of 13.31m. The sophomore also took third in the long jump at 6.30m. Distance runner and first-year Bronco Abshir Yerow (Syracuse, NY / Nottingham) topped the overall field in both his races, taking the 10K Saturday with a time of 34:03.18 and then the 5K on Sunday at 15:21.80. Freshman hurdler Humphrey Banful (Brooklyn, NY / Clara Barton) earned three total wins and two individual, taking the top overall time in the 110-meter hurdles with a career-best 15.71 and leading the NAC in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:00.36. After a record-breaking 5K performance at Penn Relays on Thursday, senior distance man Kobie Lane (Port Jervis, NY / Port Jervis) defended his conference title in the 1500 meters with a time of 14:06.03. He placed second behind Yerow in the 5K Sunday at 15:24.40. Pole vaulter Matthew Scavetta (Livingston, NJ / Livingston) also defended his NAC title, winning the overall competition with a height of 4.20m. Delhi picked up two overall victories in the relays. The 4x800 group of Michael Moran, Anthony Cuchel, Derrick Kenan and Frank Martucci got the win Saturday night with a time of 8:26.91. Moran then moved over to the 4x400 the following evening with Banful, Sean Andrews and Shamar Barker, where they took first at 3:28.78. (April 28, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's track and field team used 14 top conference marks this weekend to earn their first NAC team championship at the combined NAC/GNAC/NECC Championships at Regis College. The Broncos won the conference competition with 253 points, beating out the closest competitor, second-place Husson, by 26 points. Overall, Delhi finished first among the entire field with 127 points. Runner Katerina Salcedo (Binghamton, NY / Binghamton) was on hand for five of Delhi's victories, including three individual titles. The freshman bested the entire three-conference field in the 400 meters with a career-best 1:00.97, while taking the top conference finish in the 1500 meters with a new PR of 5:08.74 and the 800 meters, her top event, at 2:26.63. Arielle Moheimani (Homer, NY / Homer) took part in four Broncos wins, which featured two solo triumphs where she set career bests. The sophomore earned the NAC's top spot in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:10.44, while winning the 3000-meter steeplechase at a pace of 12:54.20. She also took second in the javelin at 29.22m. Madeeah Oranchak (Binghamton, NY / Binghamton) ran and jumped to three victories, earning both her individual wins in the pit. The junior took the top conference spot on the podium leaping to a measurement of 4.73m in the long jump and then a distance of 10.49m in the triple jump. She also finished second in the 200 meters at 26.95, and the 100 meters with a finals mark of 12.82, improving from her 12.99 preliminary time. Thrower Diana Echols (Ellenville, NY / Ellenville) went the distance in the shot put and hammer throw, as the junior finished first overall in the shot at 11.36m and topped the NAC in the hammer at 41.19m. Freshman Aliyah McLean (Bronx, NY / DeWitt Clinton) held the top NAC spots in the high jump with a career-best 1.50m and the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.17 after becoming the NAC's lone finalist with a PR 17.09 preliminary time. The Broncos swept all three relays races, topping the overall field in each event. The foursome of Moheimani, Salcedo, Ashley Magnifico and Naomi Mullings grabbed two of the wins, starting with Saturday evening's 4x800 with a time of 10:23.58 and ending the competition Sunday with a 4:16.20 victory in the 4x400. Just three days after setting a new season best at Penn Relays, the 4x100 team of Oranchak, Jaylynn Sheppard, Diara Oliver and Erica Cornmire took first with a mark of 49.88 for their third sub-50 time of the year.
