NEW YORK, N.Y. (February 23, 2019) – Coach Robb Munro's track and field team made one final indoor regular season stop on Friday at the New York City Armory for the Last Chance Invite. Thrower Diana Echols had a historic day, not only qualifying for the AARTFC Indoor Championships in the weight throw, but breaking her own school record with a distance of 14.09m. She bested her previous mark of 13.56m, which she threw last year at Cornell.

Echols became the Broncos' final addition for AARTFC's, set for Friday, Mar. 1 to Saturday, Mar. 2 at Ithaca College. She joins men's runners Nicholas Arnecke, Kobie Lane and Abshir Yerow, women's runners Katerina Salcedo, Erica Cornmire, Ashley Magnifico and Jaylynn Sheppard, jumper Glenn Butler Jr., and hurdler Humphrey Banful.

Sheppard set a new PR and team season best in the 200 meters, running for a time of 27.72. She also had a career best in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries with a time of 8.24. Naomi Mullings earned a PR and team year best in the 400 meters, clocking in at 1:02.12. The relay team of Sheppard, Ashanti Mirville, Diara Oliver and Cornmire gave the Broncos their fastest time of the season in the 4x200 with a time of 1:51.96.

Butler, who had punched his ticket to the championships in the high jump weeks ago, surpassed even that mark on Friday with a new PR of 2.00m to take third in the event. Lane, who previously made the regional cut for the 3K, placed fifth in the one mile with a time of 4:22.71, narrowly missing that qualifying mark by less than one second.

Sean Andrews posted a team season best in the 200 meters with a time of 23.03, coming within .23 seconds of the AARTFC qualifying time. Shamar Barker added a Broncos season high in the 500 meters with a time of 1:08.93 for fourth place. The two then grouped with Michael Moran and Banful to take third in the 4x400, placing third with a mark of 3:29.45. Matthew Scavetta finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 4.35m.
