The SUNY Delhi Track and Field teams traveled a small squad to the Ocean Breeze Comples in Staten Island for one last indoor track and field meet as a team.

The biggest highlights came from sophomore Doug Williams.  Williams started the day winning the long jump competition on his first jump with a mark of 7.08 meters.  Williams then ran the 200 meters and managed a huge indoor personal best time of 22.26 seconds despite a stumble when there was contact between him and the runner in the lane outside of him with 50 meters to run. The time tied the SUNY Delhi record held by Andre Britton from 2009.

Also coming close to a school record was freshman Nikita Hall. Hall ran the 300 meters, placing seventh with a time of 44.63 seconds, just missing the school record of 44.40 set by Jennifer Jelic in 2013.  The time moved her up to third all-time in program history.

Sophomore Andrew Davis posted a fantastic performance in the 1000 meter run.  Davis went through the 800 meter mark in a five second personal best for that distance and finished in 2:35.59 for eighth place overall.  The final performance of note was from freshman Troy Dickson in the long jump.  Dickson covered 6.48 meters, just one centimeter short of his personal best, to place seventh in the meet.

This meet concluded the team portion of the indoor season.  Next weekend senior Keimon Barrow will be in Albuquerque, NM for the USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships.  The meet will be broadcast live on USATF.tv for those interested in watching.
