The SUNY Delhi Track and Field team traveled to the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility in Staten Island, NY for a highly competitive meet at the NYC Gotham Cup.  With Olympians and past NCAA Champions competing in some events, the competition was a great test for the team.

The highest finish came from Junior Keimon Barrow who won the high jump with a clearance of 2.08 meters (6' 9.75") which was well clear of the field.  He also placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.05 meters (46' 1.25").

Other strong finishes came from Freshman Matt Scavetta in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.20 meters (13'9.25") for ninth place, Junior Brian McLeod in the high jump with a season best jump of 1.89 meters (6' 2.25") for 11th place and Sophomore Walter Briggs who ran all alone to win his heat in the 400 meters with a time 50.24 seconds to place 18th overall.

Perhaps the most impressive performance came from Freshman Kobie Lane who ran a huge personal best in the 3,000 meters.  Lanes time of 8:44.73 ranks as the fourth fastest performance in school history and was a 16 second personal best.

Leading the way for the women was Freshman Kelcey Watson with a 19th palce finish in the pole vault.  Watson cleared 3.15 meters (10' 4") and had three very clase attempts at breaking her own school record at 3.30 meters.

With classes starting this coming week, the teams will be back at full strength next week at Cornell University.
