For the second week in a row, the record board has changed on the SUNY Delhi Indoor School Records.  The team traveled to Utica College for the innaugural Jen and Todd Hutton Invitational. Freshman Kelcey Watson started the season strong in the pole vault.  Coming into college with a personal best of 10 feet, Watson cleared 3.20 meters which is 10'6" to tie the school record in the event.  She ad two very strong attempts at 3.35m/11'0" to try to break the record but was just unable to clear the bar.

The other top performance for the women's team came from Freshman Julia Knapp. Knapp improved on her 60m hurdle time from last week in the prelimanary round and then improved her best again in the final to place second overall in the meet.  She also placed sixth in the 200 meters.  The teams other runner-up finish came from Freshman Khiere Ashley in the 800 meter run.

Leading the way for the men was Freshman distance standout Kobie Lane.  Lane opened his first collegiate track and field season with an impressive win in the 3000 meter run.  He ran with the leaders for the first mile, then took over control of the race.  With 600 meters to go, another runner challenged for the lead and Lane took off on him, increasing the effort each lap.  His final time of 9:00.6 was good for a two and a half second margin ov victory.

Other top finishes on the men's side came from Ricardo Castello, Ryan Roosa, and Matt Scavetta who are all freshman that placed fourth overall in the 800 meters, high jump and pole vault respectively.

The team will now start their long winter break for training and return to action in the spring semester.
