Eight Compete in Finals During Friday's Set at AMCC's

ERIE, Pa. (February 16, 2019) – SUNY Delhi swimming and diving turned in their best effort yet on the third day of the AMCC Championships at Penn State Behrend. The Broncos had eight qualify and compete in their finals meets through preliminaries, including the firsts for James Brunt, Madison Saleman and Jeremiah Brathwaite since the championships began on Wednesday.

The day began with the men's relay team of Robert Armistead, Jonathon Brathwaite, Jacob Shoemaker and Damon Keefer competing in the 200-yard medley, finishing fifth with a time of 2:12.14.

Julia Witt took an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:12.60. Jacob Shoemaker qualified for both the 400-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke. He placed sixth in the IM at 5:56.52 and 11th in the backstroke at 1:18.87. Robert Armistead, too, made the 100-yard backstroke, and finished tenth at 1:12.92.

The Brathwaite brothers both made the 100-yard breaststroke finals. Jonathon Brathwaite took tenth with a time of 1:20.15, while Jeremiah Brathwaite finished 12th at 1:27.50. Saleman reached the 100-yard backstroke finals, finishing 11th with a mark of 1:26.07.

The Broncos wrap up their first-ever NCAA conference championships Saturday, starting at 10:00 a.m.
