Berlinski Caps Season Named NAC Runner, Rookie of the Year

WATERVILLE, Me. (November 12, 2019) – Freshman Aiden Berlinski (Unionville, NY / Minisink) was awarded the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Runner and Rookie of the Year, as announced by the conference in its end-of-season honors. Berlinski capped a stellar rookie season as a Bronco by winning the NAC individual championship on Nov. 2, leading Delhi to its first NAC team title and its fourth consecutive NCAA conference championship.

Berlinski finished first at the conference championships hosted by Northern Vermont Lyndon with a time of 28:51.4. He was the first of seven Delhi harriers that landed in the top 14, as all earned All-NAC honors to run away with the league crown with 25 points for a 44-point margin of victory. The native of Unionville, NY was a three-time NAC Rookie of the Week recipient. He posted season-best 8K time of 26:09.9, which puts in the top 15 all-time in the SUNY Delhi Men's Cross Country record books.

Sophomore Bladimir Pena (Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) was recognized to the NAC All-Sportsmanship Team. He wrapped up his second year earning NAC Second-Team honors, finishing 14th with a time of 32:03.0, and becoming a First Team All-American at Friday's USCAA National Championships, placing seventh at 27:09.77, to help the Broncos to their fourth straight USCAA championship.
