Yerow, Berlinski's Career Bests Leads to Tandem's Second NAC Weekly Sweep

WATERVILLE, Me. (October 25, 2019) – For the second time this season, the SUNY Delhi men's cross country tandem of Abshir Yerow (Syracuse, NY / Nottingham) and Aiden Berlisnki (Unionville, NY / Minisink) swept the NAC weekly conference honors. Yerow was awarded Runner of the Week and Berlinski Rookie of the Week after landmark performances at Friday's UAlbany Invitational. Berlisnki was also recognized for his first-place performance at the Bronco Classic on Oct. 3. It also marked the third time overall this season that the Broncos swept the NAC weekly honors.

Yerow broke the nine-year-old school 8K record at the NCAA Division I race in Albany with a time of 25:07.3 to finish third. He beat the previous school standard of 25:08.5 set by Chris Burnett in 2010. The Syracuse, NY native was the Broncos' top finisher as the team finished third with 82 points in a race that featured competitors across all three NCAA divisions. They finished behind NCAA Division I programs Binghamton and UAlbany as the lone NCAA Division III squad in the competition.

Berlinski was the top finisher at Delhi's midweek Bronco Classic on Oct. 3, completing the 5K race in a time of 16:28.7. He led the Broncos' charge that won the event with a perfect 15 score. The native of Unionville, NY went on to be Delhi's second finisher in Albany, securing 14th place with a new personal best 26:09.9.

Yerow, Berlinski and the Broncos are in the midst of postseason preparations for the NAC Championships, set for Saturday, Nov. 2 hosted by Northern Vermont Lyndon, and the USCAA National Championships on Friday, Nov. 8 in Virginia Beach, Va.
