Sako Parlays Four-Goal Effort into USCAA Weekly Honors

NORFOLK, Va. (September 26, 2018) – No sooner did Alhasane Sako (Brooklyn, NY / Academy for Social Action) reap the rewards of his four-game game last Wednesday with an ACAA weekly award, the junior achieved his first-ever national weekly honor from the USCAA. Sako was named the USCAA Division II Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week following his astounding role in the Broncos' 7-1 win over Southern Vermont.

Ahead just 2-1 at halftime, Sako scored four consecutive goals in a span of three minutes, two seconds. It marked the junior's first career four-goal game and boosted his scoring totals to 16 points on eight goals. He is tied for first in the ACAA in goals, and tied for fifth in the USCAA.

Sako and the Broncos look to carry their momentum into their two matches this week. Delhi travels to Elmira on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., followed by a home meeting with Green Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3:00 p.m.
