Andrino, Sako Sweep ACAA Weekly Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (September 25, 2018) – It was a sweep for the SUNY Delhi men's soccer team in this week's ACAA weekly awards. The conference announced Alhasane Sako (Brooklyn, NY / Academy for Social Action) as its Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week, and Marcos Andrino (Yorktown Heights, NY / Lakeland) as the Goalie of the Week. Both contributed exceptionally in the Broncos' 7-1 win over Southern Vermont on Wednesday.

Ahead just 2-1 at halftime, Sako earned his second ACAA honor of the season by scoring four consecutive goals in a span of three minutes, two seconds. It marked the junior's first career four-goal game and boosted his scoring totals to 16 points on eight goals. He is tied for first in the ACAA in goals.

Andrino preserved the victory by allowing just one goal in 65 minutes, 43 seconds in the net. He logged two saves to prevent the Mountaineers from leading at any point in the game, as the senior improved to 4-1 on the year.

Andrino, Sako and the Broncos look to carry their momentum into their two matches this week. Delhi travels to Elmira on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., followed by a home meeting with Green Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3:00 p.m.
