Biggs Becomes Delhi's Fourth NAC Weekly Recipient

WATERVILLE, Me. (March 26, 2019) – As the SUNY Delhi men's lacrosse team pulled in two more wins to push their win streak to six games, the Broncos earned their fourth NAC weekly recipient in Travis Biggs (Tully, NY / Tully), who earned the league's Rookie of the Week. The sophomore and first-year student-athlete was praised following a three-goal, two-assist performance in Delhi's 11-9 win over SUNY Cobleskill last Tuesday, and three goals in a 12-5 NAC win at Husson on Saturday. It marked the fourth straight week a Bronco has earned at least one of the conference's weekly honors.

While Biggs had a sizable day against the Fighting Tigers, it would be his last goal that made all the difference. Tied at 9-9 with four minutes remaining, Biggs seized on a Delhi extra-man opportunity to bury the go-ahead score and put the Broncos ahead for good. A subsequent goal by Malik Talbert sealed the victory. Biggs followed that up with his fourth career hat trick against the Eagles, netting all his scores in the first half, with his last putting the team up, 6-2, in the second quarter.

The native of Tully, NY ranks fifth in the NAC with 22 points, and third on the team with 15 goals and seven assists. His highest single-game scoring total this season came at Purchase on Mar. 10, where he tallied six points on three goals and three assists.

Biggs and the Broncos will take their win streak on the road for a game Wednesday at SUNY Poly at 4:00 p.m. Head coach Sam Miller's team will then be home their next two games, the first against NAC-foe Thomas on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at SUNY Oneonta, followed by Houghton on Wednesday, April 3 at 5:00 p.m. at Maine-Endwell High School in Endwell, N.Y.
