Men's Golf Opens Spring Season in Florida at Webber

LAKE WALES, Fla. (March 2, 2020) – The SUNY Delhi men's golf team opened their spring season down in Florida Friday and Saturday at Webber International. Friday's portion featured a tri-match between the Broncos, Webber, and Ave Maria, in which Delhi placed second with a 308 (+20), nine strokes behind winner Webber. Saturday's was an individual competition between the Broncos and the Webber Warriors. Jarrett McWilliams topped the Saturday leaderboard with a 73 (+1). The two-day event took place at the par-72 Lake Wales Country Club.

Daniel Christy placed second individually both Friday and Saturday with a pair of 74 (+2) scores. The Broncos' five on Friday featured Brandon Palmer, Zach Barrett, and McWilliams finishing tied for sixth with 78 (+6) scores and Alex Fisher placing 14th with an 82 (+10). Palmer went on to post a fourth-place finish Saturday with another 78 (+6) score, while Fisher improved to fifth with a 79 (+7) and Barrett eighth with an 83 (+11).

Jason Cyr, Ryan Clark, Russell Herbert, and John Williamsnon all competed individually over the weekend. Cyr psoted scores of 82 (+10) and 84 (+12). Clark shot an 87 (+15) both days. Herbert carded an 89 (+17) and 82 (+10). Williamson scored a 94 (+22) and 95 (+23).

Head coach Dave Arehart's men are back competing later this month at the McDaniel Invitational from Saturday, Mar. 28 to Sunday, Mar. 29.
