Christy Wins Utica Invitational as Broncos Place Third

UTICA, N.Y. (September 22, 2019) – Daniel Christy took home the individual title at this weekend's Utica Invitational as the SUNY Delhi men's golf team finished third. Christy topped the 51-player field with a 148 total (+6), shooting a 73 on Saturday and 75 on Sunday. The Broncos totaled a 627 (+36) for their bronze showing, collecting a 307 first-day total and a 320 on day two at the par-71, 6,792-yard Yahnundasis Golf Club.

Alex Fisher took ninth place with a 157 (+15), shooting a 79 and 78. Brandon Palmer placed 18th with a 160 (+18), earning a 77 and 83, while Jarrett McWilliams earned 24th with a 162 (+20), carding a 78 and 84.

Over on the "B" team, Jason Cyr finished in seventh with a 156 (+14), taking a pair of 78's. Aaron Oliver was ninth with a 157 (+15) after 79 and 78 outings, while Jonathan Smolen took 18th with a 160 (+18) on an 81 and 79, as Russell Herbert took 22nd at 161 (+19), scoring an 83 and 78. Ryan Clark was 28th with a 164 (+22), shooting an 84 and 80.

Head coach Dave Arehart's team embarks on their next challenge at next weekend's Oswego Invitational, set for Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29.
