Payton Dean Nabs Final ACAA Weekly Award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (February 19, 2019) – In their final week of honors, the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) announced Payton Dean (Harpursville, NY / Harpursville) as their Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Dean earned his third career conference weekly honor after nabbing his tenth double-double in the team's record-setting 105-71 win over College of St. Joseph Saturday to close out their regular season.

Dean became the Broncos' fourth ACAA weekly award recipient this season when he reached ten points and ten rebounds in the first half alone. The Harpursville, NY native finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds. His performance contributed to the Broncos scoring a record 71 points in the second half, leaving far behind a 36-34 halftime deficit. Delhi closed out its regular season with a 15-10 record, winning nine of its last 11 games, and posting ten straight home wins for a 10-1 record on its home court.

Dean, Jordan Fragale, Carlos Ithier and William Knight were all named ACAA Athletes of the Week over the course of Delhi's successful season. Head coach Zack Thomsen's team clinched the second seed for this weekend's ACAA Tournament, hosted by Alfred State. The Broncos will square off against third-seed Pine Manor in the league semifinals on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The winner will advance to the conference championship on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
